It’s certainly the events around Rogue that has stuck most in people’s memories. Claremont’s magic can reach any character, it seems. Maybe with the Fox-Disney deal we could see it play out in a movie sequel. The first one already seems playing into the memory loss aspect of her origin. Issues of the psyche could become a theme (and hook) for the films.

My issue isn’t that the powers dropped into her lap, it’s that she didn’t sacrifice anything or make a personal change at the same time. Spider Man’s origin story isn’t “is bit by a spider”, it’s “his Uncle Ben died, he also gets spider powers”.
